Clinic owners, Paul and Simone Hargrave first opened the doors to their newly refurbished clinic in early 2010. Living and raising a young family in the Northern Rivers region, Paul and Simone have a vested interest in the Tweed community, building a reputation for excellent service with integrity. They embrace the challenge of technological change in dental prosthetics and are constantly reviewing and updating practices and products to stay ahead of the field.
The team at Northern Rivers Denture Clinic takes pride in their service to patients, offering a comprehensive range of denture services and products to maintain your dentures in optimal condition.
Paul has been attending to patients’ denture needs in the Tweed region since 1980. He began work as a dental technician at 15 years, qualifying at the age of 22 years and has continued to upgrade his qualifications over the ensuing years. He was among the first graduates to successfully complete the newly inaugurated, post-graduate Dental Prosthetics course, qualifying to become a dental prosthetist in 2006. Paul’s long experience in dental prosthetics and his empathic and easy approach make him a favourite with our patients.
Paul divides his downtime between his family and his passion for surfing and fishing.

Dental prosthetists differ from both dentists and dental technicians. A dental prosthetist is a dental practitioner who has completed eight years of study and field practice. With further study, a dental technician can become a dental prosthetist registered to consult with patients directly. A dental prosthetist undertakes the manufacture of complete dentures, partial dentures, and mouth guards.
When you consult a dental prosthetist, you can be confident you are being cared for by a health professional. Dental prosthetists have the most comprehensive knowledge of advanced techniques, new materials, and the latest world trends in the field of denture prosthetics.
Dental technicians offer a valuable contribution to the dental industry. As a consequence, they are an important part of our team here at Northern Rivers Denture Clinic, constructing and repairing dentures and other dental appliances. These include for example, dentures, crowns, bridges, pre and post oral and maxillofacial surgical devices and orthodontic appliances made or repaired in our onsite laboratory.
Dental technicians work in conjunction with dentists and dental prosthetists.
Dentists are respected members of the healthcare community. Also known as dental surgeons, dentists perform a vital role in caring for our dental health by focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions and diseases of the teeth and gums.
